Latest: Man arrested on suspicion of murdering missing Tyrone woman Charlotte Murray

Police investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of 34 year old Charlotte Murray in Tyrone two years ago have arrested a 44 year old man on suspicion of murder.

The arrest was made in County Antrim earlier today by detectives from Serious Crime Branch.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Talbot said: “Police enquiries over nearly two years give us grounds to believe that Charlotte may have been murdered. The suspect is to be interviewed in the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim.”

Charlotte was originally from Omagh but had been living in Moy. She was reported missing in May 2013 but had not been in contact with family or friends since October/November 2012.

Appeals for information as to Charlotte’s whereabouts were made by police and her family in the summer of 2013.
