Kickers launch dance contest

TEXAS Kickers Linedancing Club are very proud to announce the launch of their Annual Dance Competition.

The club has held many competitions in the past for its members, however this year, with the generous support of Limavady Borough Council, they are opening the competition net far wider and inviting all dancers and clubs.

This year's event will coincide with their Halloween bash and promises to be an evening of great crack and prizes!

Teachers packs complete with entry forms and full dance scripts, music and rules, are available for all teachers and clubs.

Pre-registration for the competition is preferred (a nominal 1 entry fee per dancer, cheques made payable to "Texas Kickers" to be attached to the form, all monies going to local charities) by October 29.

A late registration will, however, be available up until one hour before the competition begins.

As well as the usual fun and games to be had at competitions, there will also be a Fancy Dress Line dancing disco after the judging is all done and dusted - plenty of time to practice that cowgirl twist!

There are plenty of changing facilities so dust down that scary outfit and see if you can win a prize as the best costume!

The competition will be held at the Drummond Cricket Club, Drumsurn Road, Limavady, on Friday, October 31. Doors will open at 4.30pm with warm up dances until 6.45pm.

The action then really kicks off at 7pm with the competition getting underway with a vengeance.

General admission is being kept to a minimum at 2 for children and OAPs, with the rest being admitted at a mere 4. So come along and support the dancers.

Hot food, a tea bar, and a normal bar, will be available throughout the evening, to keep you refreshed and ready for dancing!

Schedules and arrangements are all detailed in the teachers' packs. However, should you wish to get further information about the competition or about the Texas Kickers, contact Angela on 07881581678 or visit the website
