Join Shopmobility Ballymena for their first ever open day

Your local Shopmobility in Unit 24, Tower Centre is having an Open Day this Friday, June 11, giving you the chance to call in, meet the volunteers and find out about what they do.

Shopmobility lends manual wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs and powered scooters to members of the public with limited mobility to shop and to visit leisure and commercial facilities within the town, or shopping centre.

Their aim is to improve the quality of life of people with disability, may it be permanent or temporary. Shopmobility encourage them out of the isolation of their homes so they may enjoy the facilities and join in the activities that able-bodied people take for granted.

They do this by providing, free of charge, services such as the loan of manual wheelchairs daily and the loan of scooters or electric wheelchairs daily. The short-term loan of manual wheelchairs for events, hospital visits, holidays or short breaks within N.Ireland. The delivery of equipment to your car or bus stop if required.

Shopmobility Ballymena is part of Shopmobility Northern Ireland and is funded by Department of Regional Development through it’s Transport Programme for People with Disabilities amongst others.

Shopmobility is for anyone, young or old, whether their disability is temporary or permanent.

It is available for those with injuries, long or short-term disabilities – anyone who needs help with mobility. Shopmobility is about the freedom to get around.

You do not need to be registered disabled to use it.
