It’s panto time again

Lisnagarvey Operatic Society is promising some festive cheer as it brings pantomime favourite ‘Cinderella’ to the Island Hall stage.

Rehearsals are well under way for what is being billed as a magical panto full of song, dance, jokes, gags, romance and, of course, a healthy dose of audience participation.

Locals are urged to join Cinderella, played by Naomi Lloyd, who recently starred in High School Musical in the Island Hall, as she attempts to meet her Prince Charming (Claire Cranston) despite the best efforts of the Ugly Sisters (Rea Campbell and Andrew Devonshire) and the evil Demoness Blackheart (Liz Pentland) and her sidekick Jack Frost (Anna Lenzi).

Cinderella’s friends Buttons and Poppet (Andrew Scott and Jane McKibbin) are by her side and with the help of the Fairy Godmother (Lauren Molloy) and Cupid (Natasha Reilly) .

Completing the cast are Ashleigh Gault (Dandini), Demi Weir and Nicole Bell (Hue and Cry) and Kevin Murray (Baron Stoneybroke).

Award winning Director Simon Pyper returns again this year.

“For me, a good panto is a key part of Christmas,” he said. “This year’s cast are incredible and what better way to kick off the festive season than a night out at the theatre to see this wonderful production of Cinderella. I just can’t wait for the show to get started.”
