House captains elected at Limavady Grammar

The following pupils have been elected to represent their Houses as Captains and Vice Captains for the year 2013-14:

Mullaghmore Captains: Brendan Ferguson and Zara Brown; Vice captains: Daniel Miller and Ashleigh Brown

Benevenagh Captains: Rory Squires and Nadine Mullan; Vice captains: Odhran Boyd and Gemma Warnock

Benbradagh Captains: Tom Logan and Emer Lowry; Vice captains: Jamie Gault and Beth Hassan

The House system has been part of Limavady Grammar School for over fifty years and allows pupils to compete in a range of activities such as Badminton, Rugby, Swimming and Quiz to win points for their Houses. Teacher-in-charge, Miss Gail Wright explained that: “A number of competitions are held throughout the school year allowing pupils to mix with others in all year groups. There are also opportunities for pupils to attain positions of responsibility and to develop the skills employers are looking for such as team working and leadership.”

Each House is named after local, well known mountains.
