Fraudulent tax disc

A DOLLINGSTOWN woman has been fined for displaying a fraudulent tax disc.

She was 57-year-old Ann Chambers from Regency Manor.

On February 3 police stopped the defendent at Union Street in Lurgan and carried out a check of the defendant's vehicle. They found the tax disc displayed referred to another vehicle.

Her solicitor, Conor Downey, said his client was a retired teacher and mother of two adding he didn't wish to go into any more detail except to say her sons were keeping a close eye on her.

Mr Downey submitted a report from Chambers' doctor to the district judge Alan White who chose to fine the defendant 200 for fraudulent use of a vehicle registration mark.
