Exorna WI welcomeOver-50s Asian group

The special guests for the evening were representatives of the Over-50s Asian Group who meet regularly at the West Bann Centre in Coleraine.

They related their experiences of living in the Causeway area, some of them for more than 50 years. It proved a fascinating evening.

The Asian Group was led by Mrs Satish Bedi, who told the meeting that they welcomed the opportunities to swap experiences with local groups such as Exorna..

Meanwhile the winners in the competition for “Something from India” were as follows: 1, Ann Morrell; 2, Jean Sherrard; 3, Alison Hagan.

Exorna members – President, Ann Pollock, Elsie Sawyers and Pat Connelly – attractively displayed Saris provided by the guests.

Members and guests were welcomed by President, Ann Pollock, and a vote of thanks was proposed by Anne Campbell.

The Birthday Girl was Ann Connelly.

A very enjoyable evening concluded with a tasty supper and the singing of “A Countrywoman’s Song.”
