Monstrous fracker’s tour

Mr Frackhead – a 4m tall puppet hybrid of a fracking executive and a fracking rig – descended on the Causeway Coast beauty spot, in the shadow of the iconic Mussenden Temple, to commence his tour of the UK.

The tour has been organised by Friends of the Earth, and will involve visiting all four nations of the UK. It has been scheduled to lead up to Global Frackdown Day on Saturday.

James Orr, Friends of the Earth’s Northern Ireland Director said: “The banking sector needs to take its money out of dirty, planet-trashing industries like shale oil and gas. Money should work for people and planet, not against us.

“Hydraulic fracturing is destroying lives and eco-systems everywhere that it is practiced, and bringing more fossil fuels into use than our atmosphere can handle.”
