Drove through light and caused accident

A WOMAN who drove through a traffic light and caused an accident was fined £75 last Thursday at Craigavon court for driving without due care and attention.

Colette Douglas (36), of Oakdene Park, Bleary, also received three penalty points for the offence on February 4 this year.

The court heard a collision took place at around 7.30am in Church Place, Lurgan. The defendant drove through lights and struck another vehicle.

Mrs Bronagh McPartland, representing the defendant, said her client was at home when she received a call from her long term boyfriend asking for a lift to work.

She added that as the defendant approached the lights they were at red but she saw the green filter light and drove on through.
