Donations received

Autism NI’s Lisburn Branch received two donations recently - from Lisnagarvey Darts Club and Fort Hill College.

Lisnagarvey presented a £300 cheque at their end of season Champion of Champions extravaganza night.

Meanwhile the Student Voice pupils of Fort Hill College arranged various events throughout the year including spinathons, non-uniform days and bun sales to raise a total of £1,000.

Speaking on behalf of the Branch, secretary Paula McClinton said: “These donations are brilliant and will go towards provision of a timetable of Branch events throughout the long summer months.

“Amongst other planned activities we have monthly Fun Days 3.30 -5pm on the last Saturday of each month; the next is Saturday July 25 and again on August 29.

“Anyone who has a family member affected by autism is welcome to come along to the large hall in Lisburn Leisureplex, where younger family members can enjoy exclusive use of the hall for soft play.

“We also have a qualified Coach who will have a number of sports for older children (10+) and teenagers including hockey and basketball.

“There is no need to book just remember children are your own responsibility and siblings are welcome.”
