PSNI investigating burglary ‘at the home of an older person’ in Newtownabbey

Detailing the incident, Detective Sergeant Natalie Moore said: “It was reported that at some point between 3.30pm and 6.30pm, whilst the occupant was out, the property was ransacked before items including watches were removed from it.

“This has obviously been very distressing for the victim and I want to encourage everyone to report suspicious activity to us, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

The report of a suspicious vehicle or people acting strangely in your neighbourhood can help us to prevent and detect crime.

“Please also keep a look out for any elderly or vulnerable neighbours, and check on them regularly.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1630 10.11.20.
