The court heard a road traffic collision took place on the Waringstown Road, Lurgan, when the defendant went through a junction and collided with a car.

She told police that she could not find the brakes and admitted she had caused the accident.

A solicitor for the defendant said she had driven down this road every working day for the last five years.

He explained that there was a slope down to the junction and instead of the brake her foot went down on the accelerator. Her speed increased rather than decreased.

She was able to avoid a car in front of her but went on to the main road and collided with another vehicle.

The solicitor said she had been driving for 30 years with a clear record.
