Oil thieves strike in Ballykelly

Police are appealing for information after the theft of oil in Ballykelly at the weekend.

A man in the Shackleton Drive area told this newspaper that he had a substantial quantity of oil stolen and that the thieves had caused damage to his boiler.

A police spokesperson said: “On Sunday, December 28 Police received a report that a quantity of home heating oil had been stolen from premises in the Shackleton Drive area of Ballykelly.

“It is believed this theft occurred sometime between Saturday, 27 December and Sunday, 28 December.

“Police would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area during this period to contact them at Limavady on the non- emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
