Craig welcomes the discovery of two cannabis factories

Local MLA and Northern Ireland Police Board member Jonathan Craig has welcomed the discovery of two cannabis factories in the Dunmurry/Seymour Hill area.

The cannabis finds with an estimated street value of £118,500 were recovered last Thursday and resulted in the arrest of two men.

Mr Craig who is the DUP lead on the Policing Board said, “As a result of the local community working with the PSNI, passing on vital information, we now have the closure of two cannabis factories and the removal of a substantial quantity of drugs that were destined for our streets.

“The scourge of drugs is devastating young lives and destroying families, it is imperative that the PSNI, working with the community, deliver a robust policing response and take drug dealers of our streets.

“I will watch with interest the police’s investigation into these drugs finds as the community believe that an organised crime gang is responsible for these two drugs factories.

He continued: “I would urge anyone with information concerning drugs and drug dealing to contact the police.”
