Cracking family fun at Ebrington

The latest event at Ebrington Square takes place on Easter Monday when a free family fun day takes place. ‘Eggspo 2012’ runs for 11am-5pm.

Families can enjoy a host of inflatable and giant board games and entertainment, an historical Treasure Hunt around the Ebrington site, children’s arts and crafts, face-painting, balloon modelling, street entertainers, a Downtown Radio roadshow, prizes and gifts for children, a display of huge eggs decorated by the local community and stalls from the regular Walled City Market. A cracking family friendly day out!

Stephen Kelly from the event organisers said “Over the past couple of weeks, The Playhouse has been working with local community groups and younger shoppers at Foyleside to decorate ten huge six feet tall Easter Eggs. The spectacular designs on all 10 eggs will be on show together at Ebrington Square on Easter Monday. That in itself is worth seeing, but we’ve pulled together some great family entertainment for a day which traditionally doesn’t have much going on. And, all the activities are free. We’d encourage families from throughout the North West to come along from 11am”.

Caoimhín Corrigan, Ilex’s Cultural Broker commented: “We are delighted by the response to the Ebrington Events grant and increased animation of Ebrington for families and all age groups. We have received an excellent response to projects from Cultúrlann, Blue Eagle Productions and Together One Voice, and now with Eggspo 2012 from Spirit Marketing and their partners, Easter in the City will be a memorable and colourful event for all the family”.
