Collided with motorcycle

A WOMAN whose car was involved in a collision with a motorcycle admitted a charge of careless driving.

Bridgett O'Connell (67), of Ballyoran Heights, Portadown, has been driving on a provisional licence for the past five years, Thursday's sitting of Craigavon Magistrates Court was told.

The court heard that a witness had observed O'Connell's car cross the central line and collide with the bike on June 24,2009.

When interviewed she said she thought the bike had travelled into her lane.

O'Connell's solicitor told the court there was some confusion as to who was on the wrong side but she now "holds her hands up to the matter".

He said she has high blood pressure and is very distressed by the matter.

District Judge Alan White imposed four points on her licence and fined her 100.
