Celebrating 25 years of enterprise

AROUND 800 businesses have been created in the past 25 years thanks to Larne's local enterprise agency, Ledcom.

These, in turn, have created in the region of around 1,200 jobs –boosting self-employment, enterprise and entrepreneurship and transforming the local economy.

To mark Ledcom's vital role in the borough's economic and community life over the past quarter-of-a century, Mayor Councillor Bobby McKee hosted a reception in the Mayor's Parlour for Ledcom directors and members on Tuesday.

"It has long been one of the borough's core economic engines and one that is known and respected all over Northern Ireland. The excellent partnership between the council and Ledcom to support economic development has been a great success and an example to the rest of the Province.

"The council is proud of the contributions Ledcom and all its clients make to the economic and social well being of our citizens," Cllr McKee said.
