Cathedral Christmas extravaganza

This December, to follow last year’s Christmas tree festival that attracted thousands of people, Lisburn Cathedral are telling the Christmas story imaginatively with live music and flowers in a seasonal extravaganza for the whole community.

Imagine this; the beautiful historic Cathedral packed with people, the wonderful Carrickfergus Grammar School choir singing Christmas pieces, and seven gifted flower arrangers creating seven wonderful live displays over the afternoon.

Event co-ordinator Heather Gibson commented, “It’s a tremendous pleasure to welcome back international flower demonstrator Rev McMillan, as well as some of this year’s RHS Chelsea medal-winners, and other well-known flower demonstrators. They will be accompanied by such a wonderful choir under the direction of Mr. Edward Craig.

As this is not a ticketed event and there is significant interest already, we encourage people to arrive early to avoid disappointment. There will be an opportunity to contribute a suggested £10 to church funds and to the partnership with local charity Abaana, who are seeking to take eight homeless young people off the streets of Uganda.

Take time out from the hustle and bustle to join the Cathedral on Sunday 7 December at 3:30pm for Christmas flowers and music, and feel free to pop into the Cathedral to view the floral displays during the following week.
