Businesses go on sale

TEN commercial opportunities at the former Ministry of Defence (MOD) site in Ballykelly are being offered for sale.

The properties at Loughview, which was the MOD Neptune Married Quarters, include retail units, a former supermarket, the site's crche, offices and the former leisure centre and bar complex.

The buildings, which are being marketed by commercial property agency Lisney, are on the same site as the 317 houses which sold in just one day earlier this month.

The former army homes proved so popular that people lived in tents for more than a week to make sure they were at the head of the queue to buy the dwellings.

Nicky Finnieston, an associate director with Lisney, says: "Loughview has proved to be extremely popular for homebuyers, and we anticipate that retailers and other businesses will see the commercial premises as an excellent opportunity in a well located, busy area.

"The high profile that the site has enjoyed due to the home purchases should result in strong interest for the commercial offering," Mr Finnieston adds.

The premises are located in a prominent roadside location at Loughview on the A2 "Causeway Route" in Ballykelly.
