Barracks plan progressing
The St Patrick’s Barracks site was acquired by the Department for Social Development (DSD) from the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister in September 2015 and since then DSD has been progressing the development with the support of Council as a strategic partner.
An update to Mid & East Antrim councillors’ May monthly meeting in Ballymena pointed out that Council will have the opportunity to shape the preferred option for the site but that the development process to secure outline planning is currently at the first of three stages - analysis, consultation and planning application - which should take up to mid November to complete.
