Barnardo’s make stock appeal

NATIONAL retail results show a dip in consumer spending, but Barnardo’s shops are bucking the trend as takings are increasing.

However, while this is very good news the shops still need a steady supply of stock to meet demand and are appealing to anyone having a summer clear out to donate their unwanted clothing, accessories, homeware, books, CDs, DVDS etc. to their nearest Barnardo’s store.

All the proceeds raised in the shops goes directly towards Barnardo’s NI work with children who are less-advantaged and vulnerable across Northern Ireland.

Head of Retail for Barnardo’s NI Diane Winter said: “Barnardo’s has a strong reputation for good quality, well priced stock. When you combine that with the current economic climate, it is clear why our stores continue to gather fans. “Shoppers often visit us looking for nearly new designer outfits, vintage garments or eclectic home ware pieces - not only are they finding them, but they’re snapping them up at bargain prices too.”

Barnardo’s Lurgan store is on High Street.
