Anna drums up support

A TALENTED young musician is hoping to drum up some support to help her win the RTE 2 Rock Drum competition "The Drums".

Thirteen-year-old Anna McIlreavy - whose parents Peter and Jennifer are originally from Glengormley but now live in Castlerock - is one of only two Northern Ireland entrants to make it through to the grand final.

Anna, who receives her drum tuition by Jim Cuthbertson at her school in Coleraine, entered the competition last year and following a successful audition in September, was put through to the final.

The finalists are currently being featured on RTE2 this week, with voting opening from next Wednesday, April 7.

The voting will remain open until 10am on Monday, April 12.
