Hide AdPeter was a member of the Third Carrickfergus Silver Band for over 20 years and was the Principal Soprano Cornet player for the majority of that time.
He was also a tutor of Third Carrickfergus Youth Band and had been their conductor since 2006.
His job as a peripatetic brass instrument teacher meant that he worked in many of the schools in the Carrickfergus area and was well regarded throughout the community. Carrickfergus Grammar School has named a Practice Room in his memory.
The concert was sold out and the audience of 300 was treated to an evening of music from both the Senior Band conducted by Brian Connolly and the Youth Band conducted by Des Graham.

All the performers gave their services free of charge and Carrickfergus Grammar School very kindly hosted the evening
without charge. The band covered all other expenses.
This ensured that all monies from ticket sales, donations and refreshments went towards the two beneficiaries of the evening.
At Gillian’s request, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland was the Charity Partner for the evening who continue to provide support to Gillian and Isabella. All other proceeds went towards Isabella’s future development and education.
