Dog Awareness Day in park
Craigavon Borough Council is hosting a Dog Awareness Day on September 22 at the fountain in Lurgan Park from 11am to 3pm.
Council officers will be on hand to offer information in relation to your family pet as well as advice on the recent changes to legislation. Microchipping will also be on offer, so why not take advantage of the service on the day, while it is still free.

Hide AdMicrochipping is an essential part of dog control and assists the council’s dog wardens to swiftly and safely reunite stray or stolen dogs with their owners, reducing stress for both parties. It is now compulsory to have a dog microchipped before obtaining a new dog or block licence.
For further information on microchipping dog owners can chat to one of the council officers on the day or alternatively contact Craigavon Borough Council’s Licensing Department on 028 3831 2521.
The event will also include a charity walk organised by Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children – the ‘Waggy Walk’. The walk is suitable for dogs of any size and their families and will begin at 2pm.
Registration is free and it is hoped that participants will raise as much as they can to raise vital funds to support local children, teenagers and young adults living with cancer in Northern Ireland.
