Rose comes to Cedar for presentation day

Ballymena played host to the 2013 Antrim ‘Rose of Tralee’ last week when she presented achievement certificates to members of the local Cedar Brain Injuries Job Club.

The aim of the Club is to identify and enhance the skills and experience of the participants, enabling them to successfully secure future employment.

Moving into work after Brain Injury can be a particularly challenging goal to achieve as there are many barriers to overcome due to the impact of injury.

Everyone taking part developed skills in the following units: Sourcing Job Vacancies, Application Forms, Preparation& Evaluation of Mock Interviews and a CV Workshop, facilitated by staff from the Ballymena Career Service.

Certificates were presented on the day by Antrim Rose, Jean Daly who commented, “It was an honour to present the Job Club certificates to the participants.

“The skills and experience gained through the training provide a very important step towards actively seeking employment.

“I was delighted to share my experiences of training, volunteer work and the road towards paid employment and also overcoming the challenges of returning to work after acquiring a disability. It was a great occasion to celebrate the hard work and dedication .”
