£32m investment welcomed

The creation of 100 new jobs in Carrickfergus is a vote of confidence in the expertise available locally.

That’s the view of East Antrim Ulster Unionist MLA Mr Roy Beggs, who has welcomed the £32 million investment at Ryobi Aluminium Casting. The announcement, which will see the company expand its range of products for the car market, brings the number of employees to 386 at the Meadowbank Road site.

Mr Beggs MLA said: “Ryobi has been an important employer in East Antrim since it was attracted to Carrickfergus over twenty years ago. This investment is recognition of the skills of the local workforce, the improving communications links and importance of the locally available natural gas supply which minimises energy costs.”
