DOMINO’S Pizza intends expanding its presence in Londonderry by opening a new pizzeria down the Strand Road, the Sentinel can reveal.
The major fast-food chain has applied for permission to open a new shop at the former Ulster Bank at Rockmills. The building was previously used as a hot-food outlet in the 1990s.
Behind the unit is the listed former ‘Rock Bakery.’ The application has been submitted to the local planning office by DPGS Ltd, a company used by Domino’s.
In a planning statement the Pegasus Group, explained: “The front section of the shop will serve customers and a limited number of seats will be provided for waiting customers only. There will be no dine-in facility. The central section of the unit will provide the baking area, where pizzas will be prepared.
“To the rear of the unit are storage and ancillary spaces.”
