Carrick firms included in new guides

A Carrickfergus business is celebrating after being included in the Good Salon Guide.

Hair By Toni was recently awarded as a five-star rating by the independent guide to quality standards in hairdressing in the UK and Ireland.

Recognised salons are visited and objectively assessed by professional inspectors. They are also regularly reassessed to ensure standards are maintained.

Dawson Penn, chairman of the Good Salon Guide, said: “I am delighted that Hair By Toni has succeeded in reaching the standards required to become a member of the Good Salon Guide. The Good Salon Guide highlights the professional status of hairdressers and will ensure that clients can have confidence in their choice of hairdresser.”

Toni Haggan, the delighted owner of Hair By Toni, added: “The Good Salon Guide is the long awaited measure that enables clients to know their hairdresser is a true professional. We are delighted to have achieved independent recognition of this salon’s standards.”

Meanwhile, a Carrickfergus pub has been acclaimed by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

The Central Bar in High Street is listed in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2015. It follows regular visits to check on the quality of the real ales on offer. CAMRA also took into account customer service, décor and overall atmosphere.
