MADS back in business

THE time has come and St Anthony’s Centre will re-open again to the people of Craigavon and beyond.

The centre will open to the very well known production The Sound of Music produced by Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society.

The show will see a very talented cast take to the stage with Caitriona Corr performing as Maria, Jonathan McGuinness as Captain Von Trap, Laura Robinson as the Baroness, Aaron Murphy as Rolf and Eimear O’Neill as Mother Abbess.

The Sound of Music has offered members such as Michael Murray, Caitriona Breen, Catherine Lavelle and Ellen Creaney to step out of their comfort zone and take a principal role. Kieran Corr will also take to the stage and perform the role of Admiral Von Schreibeir.

Barry McCrory, spokesperson for the Drama Society, commented: “We have a great cast, team and set for this production and all we ask is that you come along and support the talent that lies amongst us here in the Borough of Craigavon.

“The Centre has undergone major refurbishment and is looking very modernised.”

Kieran Corr, Chairperson, added: “It’s been seven months since the drama society has performed a show and it’s great to get back on stage where our very talented cast belongs.

“On behalf of the drama society, I would like to thank Mr Sean McMorrow and the staff at St Anthony’s Primary School for the use of their building for rehearsals.

“Without his help, this show would have been impossible to produce.”

The show will run for two weekends, with this Friday being the opening performance at 7.30pm.

There will then be a matinee performance on Saturday at 3pm and the show to close the weekend will be on Sunday at 7.30pm.

It will then continue the following weekend on Friday, May 4 at 7.30pm and a late performance on Saturday, May 5 at 8.45pm for which tickets are £10 which includes wine reception and light supper.

The final performance will then take place on Sunday, May 6 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £6 with the exception of the matinee performance costing £5 and the Saturday evening performance costing £10.

Tickets are available from St Anthony’s Centre (during the mornings) or Print Business Supplies, North Street, Lurgan.

They can also be obtained by contacting the box office on 3831 6496 or come along to the performance and pay at door.
