Katie swims the extra mile
A TWELVE-year-old member of Larne Swimming Club has floated a plan to raise money for the team and Northern Ireland charity, the Children’s Heartbeat Trust.
Katie Morrow came up with the idea for a fun relay at Larne Leisure Centre and her mum, Julie, took on its organisation.
The Going The Extra Mile sponsored event will be held at the pool on April 28 and is open to all members of Larne Swimming Club. Sponsors who return a total of £20 will receive a Heartbeat t-shirt while those returning £30 and above will get a Heartbeat t-shirt and bear.
There will also be prizes for the person with the highest sponsorship and three endeavour awards to recognise sponsors who have all worked exceptionally hard.
