Then look no further for Ballywillan Drama Group has the solution. From Thursday , January 15 to Saturday, January 31, 2015 the acclaimed local drama group will present Hairspray.

Hairspray tells the story of Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with a big hair and an even bigger heart as she sets out to follow her extraordinary dreams, inspire her mum and win the boy she loves.

The seventy-five strong cast has been rehearsing for four months learning the show’s twenty-six musical numbers.

This has necessitated employing the services of a second choreographer, Victoria Lagan, to share the load with Company Choreographer, Sharon Logan. Musical Director, Eric Boyd, Assistant Musical Director, Andrew Robinson and Artistic Director, Brian Logan, complete the main production team.

Heading the cast is Megan Cunning who stars as Tracy Turnblad. Alan McClarty stars as Edna Turnblad, Tracy’s mother – Alan has secretly enjoyed tottering about in size 8 high heels during the rehearsals! David Mullan, Adam Goudy, Maxine McAleenon, Louise McClarty, Laura Fisher and Richard Mairs complete the principal line-up.
