Dominican dances to a Jamaican beat
Darren Ferguson explained how Beyond Skin is a multi-cultural agency which aims to celebrate diversity through music, arts, dance and new media to address issues of racism and sectarianism.
WOMAD’s Souls liberation Jamaican artist Ripton worked with all of the Year 8 boys - dubbed the Dominican College All Star Dance Troupe - to produce a street parade style performance inspired by his homeland of Jamaica.

Hide AdReuben Tosh thanked Ripton for the confidence he had brought to the group and for his inspiration throughout the week and presented him with a special piece of Dominican crystal.
Principal Ms Ronan, thanked Ripton and the members of Beyond Skin for their work in the school and the mayor and councillors who had helped to support the event as part of the legacy work in recent WOMAD activities and events in Coleraine, Limavady and Moyle.
She described how she “couldn’t be prouder “of the boys and what they had put into the week and what they had got out of it.
