A LONDONDERRY company is to revamp Help! - the 1965 film featuring The Beatles - after landing a major contract with the company founded by the band back in 1967.

Urban 3D, which employs nine people in Artillery Street, is a creative agency specialising in 3D Visualisation (Computer Generated Imagery), motion graphics and design for web and print.

It’s landed the contract with Apple Corp after receiving financial assistance from Invest NI. Richard Osborn, Urban 3D General Manager, said: “The work to transform the historic movie for Blu-ray and iTunes was a new and very exciting development for us. Winning this important business is an immensely important endorsement by such a prestigious client of the expertise that we have here in Derry.”

Apple Corp’s Jonathan Clyde said: “Help! Blu-ray and iTunes Extra is the first project Urban 3D has authored for Apple Corp Ltd. Their professionalism, creativity and technical excellence ensured the production ran smoothly and we are delighted with the result. Urban 3D displayed expertise and great attention to detail whilst transforming this precious archive film into glorious High Definition.”
