There are just three local sides in this Saturday’s Irish Senior Cup and the draw has not been kind as all three are away from home.

On Sunday at Bready with a 11am start the North West Warriors take on the Northern Knights in a three day game.

North County v Bready

The men from Balothrey will go into this one as favourites, they showed in their victory at Donemana in the previous round that they are a very useful side including a couple of ex internationals.

Bready will have Craig Young fit again which will be a big help.

Skipper David Scanlon doesn’t mind the under dog tag and his players as usual will back him up however the home side have to be the selection.

Prediction: North County

Clontarf v Strabane

The Dubliners are one of the favourites to go all the way. They are a side packed with talent with a couple of future internationals in their line up, on a perfect wicket their should be plenty of runs.

Strabane had an excellent win over Railway Union in the last round. However that has been their only victory so far this season. Their bowling isn’t the strongest and they may still be missing their professional Tawinda Mujipura.

Prediction: Clontarf

Pembroke v Ardmore

The men from the Leinster league defeated Eglinton in the last round but weren’t overly impressive. They have a lot of young players in their line up which augurs well for the future.

Ardmore had a disastrous day with the bat last week where their top scorer managed just 17. Decker Curry will always be a threat but he has yet to strike form. Maybe this could be the day that changes.

Prediction: Ardmore
