Tough opening National Cup draw for North West sides

The draw was made for the National Cup first round with Killyclooney returning to Downpatrick, the scene of their defeat by Carrickfergus earlier this summer.

The 2012 runners up Balbriggan entertain NCU side Cliftonville, while three times Irish Cup winners Lurgan travel to the North West to take on Newbuildings.

All the local teams in the competition will be desperate to reach the final next year, as it will be staged at Strabane CC.
