Cyclist Adam Ward has had a major boost for 2015 with the announcement that Lakeland Bikes, have taken him as a supported rider.

Lakeland bikes are a keen supporter of several talented athletes in a range of biking disciplines from mountain biking, road racing and triathlon.

Peter Jones manager of the Enniskillen store said: “We believe this young man has the talent if nurtured correctly and given the necessary equipment could make the professional cycling circuit, we are looking forward to helping Adam over the next few years with machinery and equipment and watching the results roll.”

The 14-year-old is currently riding for Omagh wheelers and has had a very successful 2014, winning several races and missing out on an Ulster title by a wheel width, the Donemana teenager has represented Ulster and has gained great experience in the Velodrome in Newport.

The support offered from Lakeland bikes for 2015 will allow the talented Donemana youth to now focus on training hard and racing harder and hopefully get to the professional ranks like the North West’s Marcus Christie (Bissel-ABG-Giant) and Philip Deignan (Team Sky).
