Last Saturday saw the annual O’Flaherty’s Bar sponsored “Three Clubs, Nine Holes” Challenge staged and given the significant dip in temperatures only the most ardent of golfers took part in the competition.
In total, a field of 34 players took the fairways of the links with the winning score returned by Derek Smith, who shot a very impressive 18 points.
The three clubs selected by Derek which proved to be positive on the day were an eight iron, a driver and a putter.
Meanwhile, on Sunday morning the players staged their annual Christmas Outing and the winning score of 38 points was returned by Sean McMenamin - the popular 18 handicapper enjoying a welcome return to form.
There will be an 18 holes Qualifying Stableford Sweep on offer this weekend, the competition to be played over Saturday, January 3rd and Sunday, January 4th.
The regular “Find the Joker” fund-raising draw now boasts a jackpot of €1,200.
Lines cost E2 each and this draw is open to members and non-members and lines can be purchased in the clubhouse or through the fund-raising chief seller, Oliver Doherty.
