City of Derry have appointed Terry McMaster as new head coach, after they sacked Mark Nicholl over the weekend.

McMaster returns alongside former player, Jason Mitchell, who will be the new forwards coach, with Neil Beddow retained as backs coach in the new set-up.

City of Derry currently lie four places off the bottom (13th) in AIL 2A, five points clear of the bottom three who all have nine points.

The Judges Road men have won only two of their eight games but have picked up four losing bonus points.

With the AIL due to be restructured in the summer, teams in the bottom six will find themselves relegated by default and competing in the new Fourth Division next season, a fact which may have prompted the Judges Road hierarchy to make the change.
