THE North West City Cup went by the form book, Tullyally Colts were the days highest scorers as they put nine past Limavady Rugby Club. In the Waterside derby BBOB defeated Irish Street 2-0.

Ardmore were made to fight all the way before going through on penalties against neighbours Claudy Rovers. Lincoln Courts got through by the odd goal of three against Glendermott, while Eglinton continued their good form with a 3-0 home win over Foyle Wanderers.

In the Premier Division City Colts defeated Caw 4-3 in a thriller with the winning goal coming from Colts prolific goal scorer Owen Moore.

Another week of cup action with games in the Matt Morrison Junior Cup taking centre stage this weekend, while Drummond host Tullyally Colts in the Premier Division.

Junior Cup

Eglinton v Claudy Rovers

The Villagers continue their quest for the elusive treble, they are playing with a swagger and they feel that this is going to be their year, and you can see where their confidence is coming from.

Rovers played their best football of the season when taking Ardmore to a penalty shoot out last Saturday at Mc Courts, they will be a match for the home side.

Prediction: Eglinton.

Ardmore v Garvagh

Like Eglinton, Damien McGee’s side are after the treble, they have a big panel to choose from and that is going to be a big help with injuries and suspensions sure to happen.

Garvagh are reportedly to be a big physical side and they may be suited by the heavy conditions however that may not be enough.

Prediction: Ardmore.

Caw v City Colts

These two clashed in a league game last Saturday with the Colts just managing to win through, they are scoring lots of goals and the home sides defence will have to tighten up this week, a game that could go to penalties.

Prediction: City Colts.

Newbuildings Utd Reserves v BBOB

The home side haven’t played recently for various reasons, and they couldn’t have picked much stronger opposition than the Old Boys, they will be big underdogs and the visitors should win.

Prediction: BBOB.

Dromore v Limavady Rugby Club

The Roesiders were shell shocked after their 9-0 trouncing at Tullyally, how that will effect their confidence for the rest of the season remains to be seen.

The home side are reportedly a decent side and should go through.

Prediction: Dromore.

Coleraine Crusaders v Ballykelly

Crusaders have a decent record in this competition, they are well placed in the table in the Coleraine league and will fancy their chances.

Ballykelly have reserved their best performances for cup competitions as their league form has been poor, they may lose this tie.

Prediction: Coleraine Crusaders.

Premier Division

Drummond v Tullyally Colts

The Limavady sides main aim this season is to avoid the drop, they have been inconsistent not helped by not being able to field a full strength side.

The Colts will be full of confidence after last weeks win where their forwards were on fire, this will be more difficult and they may have to settle for a share of the spoils.

Prediction: Score Draw.
