Derry City midfielder Patrick McEleney will be the latest man to go on trial.

The 22-year-old jets off on Saturday to spend a week with Championship play-off hopefuls Brentford.

McEleney, who’s brother Shane along with Rory Patterson still remain on the transfer list, attracted a lot of attention last season with Celtic in particular scouting the talented midfielder, who netted eight goals last year.

Meanwhile Michael Duffy played for a Celtic U21 side against a Newcastle United U21 team which featured Dutch international goalkeeper Tim Krul.

The winger definitely didn’t do himself any harm in securing a deal with the Scottish Premiership champions, as he netted a brace in the 3-1 win.
