College to get £60,000 fund

ST. COLUMB’S College has received a major new storage facility and equipment resource for their state-of-the-art 3G synthetic pitch, thanks to £60,000 of funding from Ilex through the Department for Social Development’s UK City of Culture Capital Infrastructure Fund.

To celebrate the completion of the new 3G pitch and storage facilities, it was officially opened on Tuesday.

Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland said: “This project has provided state of the art facilities which will not only enhance the offering to students of St Columb’s College, but will also be made available for use by the local community.”

St. Columb’s College HR & Finance Manager Fidelma Hegarty welcomed the funding saying: “I want to thank all those involved in bringing the project to completion.

“I am both delighted and relieved that the 3G project has progressed successfully to this stage.”
