Two cars have been stolen in separate creeper burglaries in Londonderry.

Sometime between 12.30am and 2am on Sunday, July 27, an intruder gained access to a house at Fern Park in Galliagh and stole a handbag from a kitchen table.

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed that car keys in it were used to steal a silver Toyota Avensis. It was later found burnt out in the Ballyarnett area of the city.

At about the same time, a silver BMW was stolen from Larcom Drive, off the Culmore Road. Once again the car was taken using keys that were removed from inside the house. The car was later observed in Buncrana. However, police said the car has not as yet been recovered.

Information can be given on the police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, witnesses can also provide information via the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
