The Walled City Tattoo is on course to beome established as one of the major events of its type on the world stage.
The second edition of the Tattoo was unveiled at Londonderry’s Guildhall today as organisers announced that audience capacity for this August’s show will be increased by 25 per cent, from 4,000 seats to 5,000 for 2014.
Writer Jonathan Burgess said their event was the latest addition to the Tattoo calendar on the world stage.
“We have taken to opportunity to bring a modern twist to the production this year,” he said.
“We are combining traditional moments of the Tattoo with more modern acts that seeks to appeal to all ages and backgrounds and caters to all tastes and communities.
“The Walled City Tattoo brings a genuinely multi-cultural large scale show to the city and invites local, national and international audiences to take the opportunity to see a truly top-class event.
“This year we are inviting peope to come to our new and improved 5,000 seater capacity venue, to sit back and let us entertain you.”
The Walled City Tattoo was one of the major hits of the 2013 UK City of Culture year with 15,000 people attending over the four evenings of the show last August.
The organisers plan to make the Tattoo an annual event, growing audiences every year and have set their sights high with a 25 per cent increase in capacity over last summer.
