Police at Strand Road are investigating a suspicious approach to two boys in the Strathfoyle area.

It occurred at about 6.15pm on Tuesday when the boys, who are aged 11 and 10, were walking at Claragh Crescent.

Constable Stewart, the investigating officer, said the boys were approached by a man they described as being in his 60s and who talked to them about football. He had grey hair, and was wearing blue jeans, a grey polo shirt, and tinted glasses.

Neither of the boys had seen him before. He was on his own and there was no vehicle that they saw.

Anyone who saw the incident or recognises the description is asked to contact police at Strand Road. Information can be given on the police non-emergency number, 101, or by calling the Crimestoppers Charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
