Police at Strand Road have appealed for information about a traffic collision in the Waterside last week, in which they say a motorcyclist was very seriously injured.
Inspector Sam Shearer, the senior investigating officer in charge of the investigation into the collision, said that the incident involved a motorcycle and a car and occurred at the Newlyn Terrace junction with Chapel Road at about 5pm on Thursday, March 19.
Emergency services attended the scene and the 17-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital where he is being treated for head injuries.
Appealing for witnesses, Inspector Shearer said police wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the two vehicles before the collision occurred.
