Sinn Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin has said progress must be made on developing a new health and social care campus on Londonderry’s cityside in 2016.
She said: “A clear case has been made for the creation of a health and social care hub in Derry in order to improve services and tackle health inequalities in the city.
“Such a facility would provide a hub which would bring together services and would work closely with GPs in the community.
“A site has been identified on the Cityside and an overwhelming case has been made for such a hub to be developed and we need to see progress being made on developing this facility in 2016.
“If we are serious about early intervention and prevention then investment is needed in this type of model to ensure that health services are integrated in the community.”
