Staff from local charity Disability Sport NI and Paediatric Physiotherapists from across NI will be hosting the 3rd ‘NI Junior Paralympic Fun Day’ event at Foyle Arena on Saturday 3rd October 2015.
The event, which will run from 10am – 4pm in the Main Hall at the Arena, is supported by Belfast Harbour Commission & Comic Relief and is an opportunity for young people (5-17yr olds) with physical/mobility disabilities to come along and try out a range of sports: Tennis, Climbing, Wheelchair Rugby, Hand Cycling, Powerchair Football, CP Football, Archery, Boxing, Wheelchair Basketball, Badminton & Boccia, so it’ll be an action packed day.
“We have places available for 40-50 participants and they can try out 1 or 2 sports or all 10 on offer, so it’s a great opportunity to have some fun, learn new skills, meet new friends and see which sports you really enjoy” said Aubrey Bingham, Senior Development Officer from Disability Sport NI.
Jenni Barkley, Belfast Harbour’s Communications and Corporate Responsibility Manager, said: “Belfast Harbour is delighted to be able to support this event which offers a fantastic opportunity for children of all ages to have fun whilst building new skills and friendships.”
Thanks to Irish Football Association, Rochesters & St Mary’s Boxing Clubs, Trailblazers Powerchair Football Club, Ulster Barbarians Wheelchair Rugby Club, Paul Logan Tennis, Foyle Valley Archery Club & Knights Wheelchair Basketball Club.
