Minister called to Ebrington

EBRINGTON Presbyterian Church has issued a Call to a new Minister.

Born in Scotland Mr. Linkens moved to Belfast with his family at an early age.

He was educated at Campbell College, Rupert Stanley and Belfast Technical Colleges where he studied textiles. This lead him to the North West where he worked in a shirt factory and later in Fruit of the Loom.

While in this area he was an active member of Magheramason Congregation. He studied for the Ministry at Union Theological College in Belfast and was Assistant Minister in Glengormley before being Installed as Minister of Tullycarnet Church in East Belfast.

He is also Convener of the vacant Congregation of Ravenhill.

Mr. Linkens and his wife Gillian have three children, Peter 11, Stephen 9 and Jane 3.

He is a keen cyclist.

His aim is to encourage the Congregation to relate to and bring the gospel to an increasingly secular society.
