A man escaped uninjured after intruders tried to force their way into his flat in Bond’s Hill last Tuesday.

Police arrested a 21 year old man following the report of the aggravated burglary on January 26.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

At approximately 8.45pm, police received a report of an altercation at the flats involving a number of males.

One male forced the door of the flat and entered it, however the occupier was able to close the door on him.

He was not injured during this incident.

Detective Constable David Johnston would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard any altercation between 8pm and 9pm to contact them at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101.

Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
