Local pupils help ASCERT funds

RVLC consists of local post primary schools - Rossmar School, Limavady Grammar School, St Mary’s School, St Patrick’s College, Limavady High School and Gaelcholaiste Dhoire.

Corienne Archibald, Vice Principal of Rossmar School and Chair of the RVLC Sub Committee, said: “This year the Joint School’s Council raised concerns about family poverty and the use of drugs in the local community. To help combat this the council have organised for each participating school to donate food to their local food bank throughout 2018 and decided to put on an exhibition in our local arts and cultural centre entitled ‘The Impact of Drugs on Lives.’

“The council further decided to support ASCERT; a charity who work in the local community

addressing drug and alcohol issues and highlighting the impact of drugs on lives and the importance of making healthy and informed choices. To show our appreciation for the work they do, the Joint School’s Council held a charity raffle in June raising £678 which we were delighted to present to them at the opening of our exhibition”.
